Sarah Palin's church, it seems, is considered 'unbiblical' by other Evangelicals and Fundamentalists. They're engaged in a campaign to take the world for the end times, engage in 'spiritual warfare', and are training their young to form '"Joel's Army" to rise up and battle evil and retake the earth for God'. Their own parent body has declared them heretical.

And this is the person that McCain would place one heartbeat away from nuclear launch codes???????

Read more here, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mevennen and [livejournal.com profile] rozkfor drawing this to my attention.

A bit over 40 minutes each way today - excellent times in both directions! Not sure what it was - lack of traffic luck with lights, hard pedaling (the last is unlikely) but things went well. There was an interesting moment on the way in when a suicidal pedestrian tried to step in front of me on the Hyde Park cycle path even after I was binging my bell and another bicycle passed him going the other way. Fortunately both of our emergency breaking systems worked. Goodness knows what he was thinking!

I think they were clearing up from some big event in the park as there were lorries of all kinds shifting presumably full portaloos and other debris. Caught a glimpse of the horseguards practicing as well.

Meanwhile I saw some unconventional cycling garb on the way home. I might be able to understand the leather trousers on the basis of their protective value, but they're not exactly flexible, and think of the sweatiness, but the high heels? I don't think so.
