Got home to find that my Logitech MX-Laser mouse, about 4 years old, was (a) no longer communicating to it's base-station and thus my iMac but also (2) plaintively flashing a red LED light, suggesting its batteries were very low or flat.

Putting it in the base=station doesn't produce the usual rising set of green bars.

I think the base-station is still working, but fear that the cold and low battery charge may have done something serious to the internal batteries. It will now spend the night in the base-station, hopefully receiving some power while its red LED blinks like the pulse of an intensive care patient. But I fear that this patient might not make it as I'm not sure there are any user servicable parts inside (and I can't see an easy way in!).

Any ideas? Or am I going to have to share by new Apple 'tooth mighty mouse between machines at home and work?
