Anybody know if something odd is happening in the region of Temple Tube station and Kings College? I was a street blocked off ands loads of police on my way in.

Meanwhile a few messages:

To: White van a delivery truck drivers this morning.

Thanks very much for the consideration and professionalism you all showed today. If every day was like this cycling in would be a much less stressful experience.

Please keep it up!

Best wishes,

PC

To: The car driver on Bishopsgate

Those bits of road allowing cyclists to turn right onto a cycle path are not there for you to barge across, blocking cyclists and one lane of traffic each way. This doesn't get you through the jam faster it just makes the jam worse for everyone.

No love,

It's a good thing I was look where you were going because you certainly weren't. I hope your offspring are graduating from medicine because if you carry on like this they'll be needed to clear up the mess you case.

Even less love,

PC

There should be a more usual cycling diary this evening.

A bit less than 50 minutes in, dead on 45 minutes back. I think the inward leg was a bit messed up by some of the building work associated with the Ropemakers block in the city - they've buggered up one of the roads I usually use.

On the way back I was beginning to notice the effects of the Plane Tree pollen. It gives me hay fever and can produce intense sharp pain in the eyes and throat. I didn't get any of that, thank goodness, partly because I was using a mask some of the time, but I did feel a bit clogged up and had to cough a bit. Feel okay now though.

On the way in saw horsegurards practicing in the park in full gear, their armour and gear making slight jingling sounds as they rode in a circle.
