According to a report on BBC News online:

it appears that masturbation may help to reduce the risks of prostate cancer in men.

I wonder how the US religious right, who hounded out Clinton's first surgeon general for suggesting that masturbation was a good thing, will react to this?

Ah, they'll just dismiss it as something from those effete and immoral British (the French having lost "effete" when they moved even lower in the estimation of the Murrican Right).

I'm sure there must be a better collective noun for us them than that.

Which reminds me of the Judge's summing up in a complex financial court action, which allegedly began "This case - and I must be careful not to fall into Spooner's trap here - concerns a group of warring bankers..."
