House warming went very nicely last night. Lots of food and drink consumed. Culinary highlight was dedfinitely G's cassoulet, but my ratatouille and [livejournal.com profile] purpletigron's mutton curry went down well as well. Lots of good company and conversation. Things turned out well so that nobody had to share a sleeping room with anyone they weren't used to. The usual chaos this morning with people leaving things behind and an extended, browsing breakfast. Arguably I'm still browsing!

Many thanks to all those who came, couldn't come, or who we forgot to invite. Special thanks to the LJer who sent us a housewarming present!

Loved the cassoulet, any chance of twisting G's arm for the recipe?

The ratatouille was lovely too, but the mutton curry had disappeared before I arrived.

In spite of dodgy directions from Steve and Anne I managed to get back to the motorway and home safely (somewhere between 4 and 5am, yikes! I drove about 320 miles yesterday, which, given the first 2.5 hours covered 30 miles, is actually more impressive than it sounds!!)

A lovely house and hopefully I'll get invited back again <grin>

I've already watched the first of the thirteen 'Victorian Kitchen Garden' episodes on our house-and-allotment-warming DVD, and the Disc 1 special features. Never having seen the TV series (although having read the book), this is a fabulous prezzie :-)
