After the B team fail to fully explode their bombs on 22/7/05, and the C team fail to build competent FAEs and either crash their car bombs or get them towed away, have we now seen the attack of the D team?

It seems that two people have driven a burning car at the entrance to Glasgow airport, only to (a) do minimal property damage (b) set themselves on fire (in at least one case) and (c) leap into the arms of the police and bystanders who proceed to wrestle them to the floor and arrest them...

Thanks for the link as it had passed me by. I doubt it was connected to A and B (and don't they think that B was just inspired by A anyway?)

I reckon it was an attempt to do C properly - but thankfully they still don't know what they are doing wrong..

Whether they are actually connected and know each other, or whether they are just inspired by each other is another question.

The real question is - why are some young asian men so alienated that they are prepared to kill themselves to attack Glasgow city airport?

It's not just alienation - there's plenty of that around especially with young males. It's also an abrogation of responsibility, and descent into the fantasy that things can be improved by meaningless acts of self destructive violence. That goes as much for bin Laden with his messianic fantasies of a new caliphate as it does for the suicide bombers he has inspired.

Making it plain that these people are blind fools living in a fantasy land more deserving of pity and ridicule than fear would be more effective than any number of misdirected police raids.

More as a cult, you think?

That could mean the government inspiring anti-religion sentiment, which would certainly go against Blair's thinking.. Blaming "pakis" is a lot easier for them..

This is one terrist attack that I don't think Al Qaeda is going to take credit for.

I mean really, would you?

What the feck has Glasgow Airport ever done to so outrage the Nation of Islam?! (or am I leaping to conclusions here? - perhaps it was a Mars Bar fanciers' Club militant wing attack).

Aww, they expected to be transported to paradise and the attentions of numerous virgins. Instead they ended up in Glasgow airport being beaten up by weegies. LOL at them.

Or in intensive care at a Glasgow hospital's secure unit with 40% body burns. I trust they're doing all they can to keep him alive.

Like I said, naive fantasists.
