I'm sorry to have to report that Jeckyl has lurched into extreme fantasy...

250k pounds a year for a British research scientist? What has Moffat been smoking! At least we bow know how they afford those houses!

Everything else continues in fine form, and the plethora of strong female characters continues in excellent contrast to Dr Who. There's only about 2 significant male characters left!

Still the best SF on TV at the moment...

What field is he researching in? Some of them don't mind a difference of a factor of ten...

Sadly research accountancy isn't one of them...

I have decided that this ludicrous figure is because Jackman's organization is really really motivated not to let him get itchy feet and start wondering about employment prospects.

I think Jackman has never in fact worked anywhere else; he probably got contacted with the job offer as soon as he finished his degree, and never looked back. Heck, I wouldn't hesitate, for those sums!

And wasn't the detective awesome this week? *much love*

(typo - "employment prospects _elsewhere_")

We still haven't found out what his field is, have we?

I thought he was a psychologist (I think it states that in the opening to the first episode).

I've only seen eps 1&2 but my understanding is that his career has been guided and shaped by the more-mony-than-sense US corporation - so if they're funding his post, they can pay whatever they like to keep him there. For 250K I probably would...

I haven't watched Saturday's yet, but have just seen the summary for next Saturday - there's a strong WTF!!! factor.

of course my first question was 250k pounds of what? (marking? admin? anti-depressants required?)
