In case anybody here is interested...

The RAS is looking for an Editorial Office Manager. The Society needs
an Editorial Office Manager (EOM) to supervise and be part of a 6 person
team which supports editors of Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical
Society (MNRAS) and Geophysical Journal International (GJI), its leading
international scientific journals (published by Wiley-Blackwell). The
EOM, in addition to handling papers for MNRAS, liaises with editors and
the publisher, organises and attends board meetings and troubleshoots the
on-line submission and tracking system (Manuscript Central). Applicants
must have relevant experience of scientific journal publishing and of
Manuscript Central; a knowledge of astronomy is highly desirable.

Applications from people wishing to work from home (in the UK) will be
considered.

I will pass this on to some people I know who might be interested; but I have to say that it looks to me like the salary's pitched too low.

Apply anyway... I'm not sure if many people have these skills and you'll be a fast learner!

Yep -- that's not all that much more than I make (with current exchange rates, that is), and London is far more expensive than where I am, which isn't cheap.

By the standards of most of the jobs I'm applying for right now, that's quite a competitive salary - but then I'm not applying to be an office manager.
