After the disappointment of another no sale, I got home from the writers' group tonight to find my first ever payment for a writing fiction. An envelope was waiting for me from spacewesterns.com who published my Martian Cowboy limerick. Inside the envelope was a single dollar bill.
I think I'm going to frame it.

I did the same thing when I sold my first-ever anything (a poem, to Strange Horizons); I never cashed the $20 cheque but instead put it in my scrapbook.
It's cool to get money for something you just thought up, isn't it?
