Any of you going to Eastercon this year?

It's at the Radisson Edwardian just outside Heathrow. Guests include:

Charlie Stross
Tanith Lee
Neil Gaiman

It should be a great first Eastercon if you've never gone before. I might even buy first timers from this flist I meet a pint if I see you in the bar...

I think my first Eastercon was in 1980... but I'm looking forward to seeing you there!

My first Eastercon was in '98, although it was a while before I returned to it....

Not exactly a first-timer but I'll be there.

Not my first Eastercon, but I should be there on the Saturday! (can't afford to go for the whole weekend, though mainly due to time rather than budget considerations)

I'm a first time Easter-conner... does that mean I get a pint?! Of the non-alcoholic variety, of course. My sister's coming too, and this is her first con ever. I think that deserves something extra special... :)

Alas, I'm rather busy at work, so I'm expecting to be working over the Easter weekend :(

I have been uncertain about going to Eastercon for some time. (I didnt make it last year).

My plan is to try and go on Saturday and if that works then I'll go on Sunday as well.

We won't be going. I anticipate spending much of the holiday weekend trying to get books on shelves, cardboard boxes to dump and weeds out of garden.

Sadly, I will be unable to attend, since there's that whole 'reducing my carbon footprint and Damn! I've got to teach thing..."

OTOH, if you feel like bringing a guest to BSFA in July ...? My regular hosts will be at Finncon, I believe.

...of the new sequence. I did 1978-2006, but missed last year.

Please make sure you have a brain smoothie waiting for Me. I hope to arrive on Thursday evening, but with

feorag doing a share of the driving, I might be a little shaken.

Sadly I will not be arriving until Friday morning. Brain smoothies will be available at that point though.

We'll be arriving on Friday, can be found in the dealers' room (or the bar), leaving Sunday night.

This'll be my second Eastercon, but I'm dragging

piesandmash along and it'll be his first.

bugshaw and I will be there (sadly minus boot knives, cats and beer masters)

This will be my first. I return from Sweden on Saturday night about 9pm; rather than shlep all the way to Enfield, I have booked a room in the hotel over the road, and will spend Sunday at Eastercon.

There will probably be time to find you in the bar on Saturday.

Er, which bar? I assume there's several.

There are several.

The Real Ale bar is the Edwardian on the third floor. Also on the third floor and close to the Edwardian is the Atrium bar. The third floor has most of the programme rooms.

On the ground floor there will be a bar and social space in the Newbury (Newbury 1 in particular though I expect people may go sit in Newbury 2).

There are two other bars on the ground floor (Henleys and the Polo Bar), these are NOT convention bars, but you can drink there if you don't mind paying horrendous prices. E.g. cup of tea/coffee or a pint of coke/orange juice is a pound in the con bars, a cup of tea in the Polo Bar is £3.50.

I'd have had to have been narrowly missed by a car, lost a family member, of broken up with my bf for a cup of tea to be worth that much...

I'll be there from sometime on Thursday afternoon until first thing on the Tuesday morning. This will be my tenth Eastercon.

It will be my second time at the Radisson Edwardian.

Hm, I think I already owe you a pint or two. But you can buy Trev one, it's his first Eastercon, and he'll probably need it!

I wanted to go, so badly, but I had/have a horrible case of the flu and I didn't feel like being Typhoid Mary. I hope you had a fabulous time.
