All I will say is that Heath Ledger is a better Joker than Jack Nicholson. A pity we'll never see him in the role again, or any other.

Well, he did finish enough of his scenes for his next film (Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, directed by Terry Gilliam) that we'll see him in that.

I watched the 1989 Batman last night on DVD. Surprised to find I did not like it.

I was just about to point that out. I know one of the actresses on that movie, and it sounds like Gilliam is well on form.
