I'm almost getting used to seeing the names of friends in the acknowledgements lists of SF writers - I've been there a couple of times myself - but I'm not so used to seeing familiar names in books that have been recommended as "required reading for members of congress".

So I was rather surprised to see a familiar name from LJ and elsewhere given thanks for research by Bruce Schneier in Beyond Fear. We've bought a couple of copies of this, one to lend or give to our local MP in our efforts against the introduction of ID cards to the UK.

So, great work - you know who you are!

Bruce is a fan. He and his wife Karen got a Hugo nomination for one of the Minicon restaurant guides, they also did a recent Worldcon restaurant guide, and so on.
