Walk back the the Pembury was interesting. London doesn't often get snow, and even less often gets laying snow at the weekend, so it was rather nice. Of course this probably means that public transport is going to be chaos tomorrow but such is life. I suspect those, like
cthulie who had a long way to come and a rather inconvenient route home when it's icy, made the right decision to turn back.
But the sugar frosting and the usual sound dampening made the walk home rather nice. I even got complemented on my preparedness by a couple of women at a bus stop. Having friends in Canada who know cold weather and can tell you what ti buy is really rather helpful in this context :-) It may be -3 out there, but Edmonton at -25 is good practice!

Yes, we looked at getting a bus after the trains kept being suspended, and it was snowing so hard by then we figured it might mean a night on your sofa if we got to the Pembury at all. Fortunately our bit of the Northern Line is still underground.
There's a snowball fight going on outside.
