A major geophysical survey of Antarctica has revealed that the Gamburtsev mountain range, hidden beneath the ice, is surprisingly jagged. This has raised a puzzling questions about their origin because they seem surprisingly well preserved for their suspected age of 540 million years.

I shall leave my readers to speculate as to the true reason for their jagged and youthful appearance.

Though of course some of Us here present Know the true answer...
