Its a while since I've read a non-M Banks. While this is a perfectly well written and fairly engaging book, it never really satisfied me. I'd guessed the nature of the 'final secret' fairly early on, and while the Wopuld family's antics are reasonably interesting the overall story doesn't have the gripping energy of either the M or non-M Bankses that I've read. Its an OK read, but there is better out there.
