Gemini as TSR21

A comment elsewhere prompts me to draw comparisons between Gemini, and the current state of UK particle physics and astronomy funding, and the cancellation of so many science and engineering projects in the late 60s such as the TSR2 and Black Arrow.

Am I just being maudlin?
