Its in the park on the way into Ambleside from the Grasmere direction. We didn't get sprayed, but it looked very odd until we got close enough to see what had happened to the sign.

If we'd been sprayed, I'd have had to take a photo of that!

I think that is what is known in the trade as the 'distressed'look. Snorts! What was on the sign before, I cannot make it out? It looks a bit like 'pedestrian crossing' but I am seriously hoping it is a 'slippery surface' warning.
