Harriet Harman say's ex-RBS chair's pension unacceptible in the court of public opinion - clearly an appeal to public populism.
But...
Phil Woolas (immigration minister) says which Gurkhas can settle in the UK must be guided by the law, not merely "political populism"
There seems to be a certain lack of consistency here...
