Jointly [livejournal.com profile] fjm and I seem to have had a lot of luck in getting letters printed in the Independent or the Guardian. This is not the first that has come from "The Science Fiction Foundation", thus reminding people of our existence. But thanks very much for posting this clipping; we did not get the paper yesterday, and it is always interesting to see how the letter has been edited (there's about a sentence missing, I think, but nothing of substance).

Nicely put. Surprised at the number of errors; her earlier Galileo's Daughter seemed to have been heavily researched.

thanks for that. I had failed to hunt up the letter and was going to ask. Nice rebuttal! I think they could do with a good closing sentence to really ram the knife home but perhaps it got edited off.
