Charging Zone expands

Just seen that the congestion charge zone in London will expand to include Imperial from Feb 2007:

This should have a good effect on general traffic, and might make things quiet enough to intice me to try cycling to work...

Hopefully it'll mean slightly fewer students getting run over near college this year as well.

There is that, yes, though the taxi drivers and chauffeurs who have a tendency not to stop on the Prince Consort Road zebra crossing will still be there.

Remember - paragraph 171 of the highway code states that vehicles are obliged to stop once someone has stepped onto the crossing, and there is an associated offense if they don't. I find its helpful to remind drivers of this when I have a problem...

On the downside I think that this means that irritating Chelsea yahs can commute by car into the City again as they will get the insider's 90% discount - bah humbug (unless Ken's fixed that loophole somehow).
