Well the first cold of winter has arrived in force. It may be the same one that [livejournal.com profile] hawkida has...

It started Friday with a sore throat, but that wasn't much of a problem, and I got a bit of a cough over the weekend. I had thought it was on the way out yesterday, but today it has found my nose and head, and exploded into the world. I am now streaming, sneezing, and dribbling from the nose. Work became an increasing struggle as the day wore on, and I'm sure my fellow passengers on the tube this evening thought I was a viral suicide bomb going off.

I've now got the back ache, muzziness and inability to think that means I have a full viral load.

At least I have a plumber coming tomorrow morning so have a little more time before I have to try to drag myself back in to work. If it comes to it, I can always do stuff from home tomorrow, in spite of the research group meeting.

Lets hope it leaves as fast as it came...

Sympathies from the similarly afflicted. Feel better soon! Everyone warned us that when DD started creche she would be sick with virus after virus. I didn't consider the effects of her sharing same at home. Hack! Choke! I'm off to infect some hapless Old English students tomorrow and serve them right for not learning their declensions!

I think I managed that in lab yesterday. For once I'm getting them not the other way round!

I also have a sore throat, so I feel at least some of your pain. Here's hoping that we all get better soon.

I just cut straight to concrete congestion, that slight tightening of the chest and post-nasal drip, in what feels scarily like a reprise of the leftovers of last year's exciting autumn-term virus. As I gather that this year's 'Freshers Flu' involves a fairly terminal bad stomach (though given the crap they are all eating, how anyone knows this for sure, I can't imagine), I am actually very happy about this.

Sorry to hear you're one of the great mass of the be-snotted. It's ridiculous in our house now with all three of us sneezing, coughing and trying to make ourselves understood through gallons of mucus.

Get well!

Me, I went to full-blown, might-as-well-camp-on-the-throne stomach flu for four days!
